The buses run Monday - Friday from 7:00am - 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am - 12:00pm. Excluding the following holidays.

In addition to inclemant weather the buses do not operate on these holidays.

Voice & TTY - Use your TTY or dial 711 on your telephone and you will automatically be connected to a TRS operator.

When scheduling your ride let the dispatcher know you have an appointment at a specific time. 

For non-appointment rides the driver can arrive 20 minutes earlier or later than your scheduled time. Please be ready during that arrival window.

We may not be able to accommodate same day reservations, but we will give it every effort. 

There is no age limit. However, children 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult. 

Boone County Transit’s demand-response service is replacing RMTD’s Route 24 in Belvidere. Riders will be dropped off & picked up at RMTD’s East Side Transfer Center.  

Door-to-Door service is available for anyone 

• Traveling to/from East Side Transfer Station (ESTS), Center for Sight and Hearing, Davita Churchview (on Ware), and the Van Galder bus terminal.
• Qualified as a RMTD Paratransit Rider traveling to/from medical appointments.

Caregivers and assistants ride for free while escorting their patient. 

We do need to know if a caregiver will be riding to make sure we have proper seating available.

We can do a will-call pick-up where you call when you are ready. This is set up when you call for your reservation. 

Payment can be made with exact cash (the driver does not make change).

Tickets can also be purchased from the Keen Age Center at 2141 Henry Luckow Ln, Belvidere, IL 61008. 

The bus picks up and drops off anywhere in Boone County. 

Medical appointments are accomodated outside Boone County to Center for Sight and Hearing, Davita Churchview (on Ware), and the Van Galder bus terminal and for Seniors and people that qualify as an RMTD paratransit rider. 

Any passenger travelling with a child must secure the child in an appropriate child safety seat per Illinois State Law. 

Passengers with children who require safety seats must bring the appropriate device with them. 

Boone County Transit provides rides for ALL residents of Boone County. Our buses are accessible with a motorized lift to accommodate people with disabilities.

All Boone County Transit buses have motorized lifts that can accommodate mobility aids, wheelchairs, and motorized scooters. 

• Age 11 and under: $1.00 per one-way trip and must ride with an adult
• Age 12 - 60: $2.00 per one-way trip
• Adults 60 years & older: Donations gratefully accepted

Door-to-door service means the bus picks you up where you request and drops you off at your desired destination. 

There are no bus stops or routes in door to door service.
